I'm going to

Laying in bed last night I decided I wanted something to read. Looking through my night stand I found my journal. I write in it for a while then stop suddenly, and after a while I start writing again. I opened the journal to the last day I had written in it and it was in 2008. I had written what I had done that day and a few blank lines under that I had written a small paragraph.

It said Emily was still up set about leaving a baby shower early. I explained again that we hadn't left early we had stayed and helped clean up. After some back and forth with Emily I finally understood. She said we had to have left early because we didn't get wet. That is the mind of my literal 4 year old. We went to a baby "shower". She had said it wasn't a baby shower and she was going to call it a baby party.

I kept a digital scrapbook all of 2008 and some of 2009 but haven't done a very good job this year. If I hadn't written that little story down I would have never thought of it again. That sweet moment would have been gone forever. Our religion teaches us we should keep a journal for our children and their children and their children... And after reading that little paragraph last night I am going to continue my journal and digital scrapbook on a regular basis.

I love to look back at my life, getting married, having children, what my kids have said and done, how they have grown, and changed. And with my journal and digital scrapbook my children, and their children, and their children... can enjoy that also.
